5870 1gb vs 2gb hash rate

Hey im about to buy 2 5870 video cards and i noticed that there are 1gb versions and 2gb versions is this going to effect my hash rate. if so how much. the mining hardware comparison sheet shows them getting 383 mhps is this going to be about what i get with the 1gb card or no? please advise.

The ram has little to no relevance to hash rate. There are odd examples where the 2gb models have easier access to more shaders, such as the 6950.

But for 99% of situations, having 1gb vs 2gb makes no difference.

Since the calculation is done only on the GPU, the memory doesnt really matter. You can buy the cheaper 1Gb versions

And you should get at least 430 MH/s from a 5870 !!!!

Clock: 925 MHz
Memory:319 MHz
VDD: 1.07 Volts

I put them at 970 MHz when I have the air-condition on, and they reach 447 MH/s

If it's a mining rig go for the 1GB cards, for price reasons.
If you're going to be gaming as well as mining consider going for the 2gb cards as the memory will benefit your gaming performance.

k thx guys i appreciate it! i look forward to getting my hashes soon! and as for gaming.... waste of my time, id rather do something more productive. spent way to many years of my life crushin in cod. sold all my gaming stuff bout 4 months ago when i learned about bitcoins. id rather better myself than waste it noscopin little kids

lol i have this small issue with not being able to put the sticks down... days pass.. do they have gamers anonymous meetings? plus all these new zombie levels they kept giving me. had to end it. endless cycle of game eat sleep til friday blackout sleep til sat night blackout game til next weekend. lol
