What is the most productive thing I can do with this right now?  I've been currently switching between solo mining for 12 hrs, and pool mining for the other 12 hrs.  Anyone got a better idea?  alt coins?  Cheesy

Solo mining with a USB block erupter is not feasible. The chances of you finding the next block are about 1/3,000,000. It's better than the lottery, but it is still likely to never happen.

Mining with a block erupter will still earn about 0.01 BTC, so until it costs you more in electricity, you might as well keep mining.

Actually I own 2 KNC Jupiters, and I am still using 22 Red Fury and 2 Block Erupter. The more hash rate the merrier.  Grin

I also have 3 x 6 GPUs Scrypt and CPU miner.

I want to buy *something* but alas pre-order is something I *will not* do

I already got the 2 Jupiters at home. They are the 670 GH/s one. I also ordered 1 Neptune. I trust KNC, so not a problem. =)

I also got an Avalon 220 GH/s coming this week.  Grin

But I am still mining with my 355 MH/s Block Erupter, I actually still get annoy when the green LED light comes on. Because I will quickly check that it is running with the mining program.

Just keep mining away as a speculative bet. Event tiny amounts of Bitcoin may be worth a lot more in 5 years from now.
At the moment you should get around 3USD per month in Bitcoin for a device consuming 2.5W = 1.8kWh / month.
So here in Australia where power is about 0.31AUD / kWh - I'm still making at least 2.7USD per month per USB block erupter. So, I'll keep mining away in a pool (I use Slush's pool) with my 10 x USB Block Erupters for quite some time yet.
