Yep, you can use any port number you want, just connect your miners to that port.
BTW I'm solo mining at 2MH from the minute the wallet appeared, found tens if not hundreds of blocks, and my wallet shows a zero balance. All found blocks had been rejected..

Yeah I'm not getting any now either, though I'm still completing blocks. A fork has probably appeared..
So this is my first time solo mining and encountering a fork. What do we do? Just wait and hope it sorts itself out? I'm still stuck at 1100 MONA.

guys stop that crap, there was no premine - you are just slow - i downloaded the wallet and it was on block 1
next time be faster and prepare your config files/cgminer in advance!
