As many of you might be aware of, HashFast has learned all the lessons from BFL and is in the process of accomplishing an even worse scam. However, it looks like that they where overconfident about overpromising. They think that they will come out of this just fine. Legally, i mean.

For several reasons, this will not be the case.

However, while their customers are proceeding legally against them, they are (and will) try to put off some other fire sales in the very next few days. People who will buy from them will be the least legally protected, due to their ever changing ToS.

I'm asking you for some cheap action to prevent this. You can start by upvoting this Reddit post:
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1u2a3m/running_timeline_of_hashfasts_actions_lies_and/

You could create a new one with better content, if you wish.
If you have contacts with relevant journalist, i kindly ask you to let them know about this story. Many on this forum are able to help on pointing out details for some good article.

Doing this if you are a batch 1 customer will be an equivalent of biting the hand that feeds you, but it's only the right thing to do.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:

There needs to be a freestanding domain with this information.  Doesn't have to be anything complicated. Just something that advertisements on the keyword hashfast can be pointed at.

People are still handing BFL money for vaporware.

Concerning yourself with the future actions of others is a waste of energy.

In your shoes I would be more concerned with figuring out when you actually will get batch I orders fulfilled.  Do you know how long it takes to make a volume build of circuit boards?  How much expediting the builds costs?

Ever wonder why the recent statements about shipping sound an awful lot like what Josh was saying for 9 months straight?

I personally don't really care about the status of my order anymore, i only care about my lawyer and my arbitration. I haven't received my tracking yet, there is a tiny chance that they will ship it before midnight and yet the delivered (!= exwork) terminology won't fit it.

If from a lawyer and there rest of my inbox i can take a break trying to help someone out of a problem he will have, i will have done something good in my day.

gmaxwell, unfortunately i don't have the time for this right now.

Concerning yourself with the future actions of others is a waste of energy.
The future of others is also the future of Bitcoin.

If small independent miners keep losing their shirts on deals like this we'll end up in a case where only huge consolidated operations with captive manufacturing will be profitable. The end result would be an enormous centralization of hash-power which would undermine the security assumptions in Bitcoin, and result in the ultimate failure of the cryptocurrency... which wouldn't be in the interest of anyone currently mining or holding coins.

Besides, the future actions of others may include my friends and future friends. Not everything is about making a profit denominated in coins or dollars.

The more victims there are of giant frauds and fake asic manufacturers, the less likely bitcoin is to ever take hold. At any time, the majority of the companies involved in this industry have been ripping people off and lying to their customers. I have not and will not recommend to anyone I know to get involved. I took personal risks on purchases with KNC and they turned out well, but that could have gone either way. What if I'd simply seen the promises by hashfast to ship in december, or VMC. I'd be up shit creek waiting for my paddle in the mail.

I would say that this doesn't make bitcoin less likely to succeed, but as stated in the previous post, make it more likely that large companies will take it over.  Of course this chord against the ethos of bitcoin, maybe this is what you mean by destroy.

If you want to improve things, as a mod you can easily have a positive impact. Abolish all discussion of hardware that hasn't shipped in volume to mining speculation.

I agree that the Custom Hardware sub should be about Custom Hardware, in accordance with Gmaxwell's own rules.

That means Scam Accusations should be moved to the Scam Accusation sub, not left here to lower the signal/noise ratio.

The baseless, now-rubbished "Is HashFast Self-Mining?" thread is a sterling example of why following Gmaxwell's rules is a good idea.

Of course, being both a disgruntled customer and a mod presents an increasingly apparent conflict of interest for him.

"Bitcoin enables ordinary people to fight back, to avoid and evade snooping governments, which enact, use and abuse laws that allow them, without due process, to investigate, tax, control and seize privately owned assets."  -   Leon Louw

“We can say without equivocation that firms like MasterCard, Visa and the TBTF banks like JPMorgan and Goldman hate the idea of ever having to compete for business again. They have grown comfortable in their corrupt world of writing laws for themselves without any regulatory oversight. They enjoy the exorbitant privilege of bilking the American economy with extortionary transaction rates. They are scared of Bitcoin. And they should be. It offers transparency, cost efficiency and anonymity.” - Max Kaiser

I was worried that you would have had the courage to come here and argue what i wrote, because i was ready to defend it. However your post is uselessly full of nothing but personal attacks to our moderator and of new empty lines.

I'm disappointed.

This thread is not a scam accusation, so shall it not belong to the scam accusation forum. I understand that you will have an hard time understanding this. But have a nice new year anyway.

Lol...well we can't really talk about your custom hardware now can we, since you took all our BTC, lied to us, and gave us nothing.

To avoid wasting people's time avoid bumping threads with pointless +1s, meme images, or "inb4" messages. Silence is golden. If you don't have something substantive to say, please say nothing at all. If you're not sure what the topic of a thread is either don't post in it or only post to ask for clarification.

This thread is about letting people know you haven't provided your custom hardware.  Stop bumping it with useless posts and spend more time shipping.

[And now I have to go figure out how to split all this OT stuff out of this thread. ::sigh::]

Is discussing shipping timelines and company communications of custom hardware vendors really OT?

How about

HashFastScam.org

or

HashFastLawsuit.org

I'll *(contact the owner) to donate either to someone willing to populate them.
