I must say in directbet's defense, the rule is very clear and it's that way at most online sportsbooks.  The first set needs to be completed otherwise all bets, even for the "loser" are a push and refunded.

I suggest you learn the rules before placing bets and/or complaining.

The rule is not really flawed, it applies both ways. If your bet was on the player who retired(which would be a loss) , even then it would be a push . I believe all the sportsbooks follow the same rule .

This is a standard universal rule that is used by most Sportbooks.

I understand that it went against your favor in this case and I'm sorry about that, but the most important thing is that this rule is clearly stated on our website and we follow it consistently regardless of the bet result.

It could just as well go in your favor the next time around.
