You have a very nice idea of people starting their own sportsbook. I believe it needs massive investment to run such an entity and for it to be sustainable. You may risk closing down very early when you get people who win big and yet your available resources can not meet the winnings. it is not that easy to maintain one site like directbet, you can't just remove directbet here just to take one new site and become one of the bookmakers. And more over you need huge bankroll to cover up some loss here. May be your site is good but with low bankroll you have, you can't really maintain site and becoming like directbet here. Just wondering here how long will site like direct bet will coming up again

I agree. Maybe this is what actually did happen. It could have been bought behind the scenes by a competitor and then just closed down. That would actually make sense and if they did sell it, the wouldn't broadcast it like "we just sold for 1000 BTC" or something like that.

I never thought of that but it probably was bought out. I highly doubt that the site was running unprofitably.

They do not offer any bets anymore since they closed in May, you may ask another sportsbook to offer such lines.
