My $10 ASIC souvenir

Two months ago I purchased a USB Block Eruptor 336MHash ASIC.
The 336Mhash is much better than my GPUs 30Mhash.

The fiat conversion rate fluctuates too much for me to pay attention anymore.
I figure a BTC is worth about $1,000USD.
So my goal was to obtain 0.01BTC with the ASIC.

As far as I'm concerned the ASIC has been a success and paid for itself in two months.
I decided to retire it and save it as a souvenir due to the rapid difficulty increases we are likely to see soon.

It was a fun experiment
I feel bad for anybody buying the block eruptors for more than $10usd or 0.01BTC, especially at this point when the new round of ASICs are coming out.

Two months for 10 mBTC is painful. This is why I moved to mining alt coins and trading. With as little as 1 MH/s, you can make the same, in a day.

Primecoin, At the moment Primecoin is still cpu only.
You can get 0.01BTC for 3 Primecoins.

I've made more btc via Primecoin mining then trading than I ever did mining btc via pooled mining.

A fiat value can be estimated indirectly XPM->BTC->fiat
A primecoin is worth 0.00379BTC at the moment, the number changes often.

I'm not sure, I think there may be a 7.5% involuntary fee.
I have been getting primecoin pretty fast via ypool.

Primecoin is good if you don't have a lot of speed. FRC is fairly easy to mine also although the exchange value is rather low.

I love reading these...you remind me of a similar person who dropped 15K on a large ltc rig setup which was close to breaking even back then...if he wouldve saved them and simply converted enough he couldve had 10x his investment back.  I'm glad you broke even on 10 dollars and all, but what if I told you that the 10 dollars of value you see today is like 1000 dollars 3 years from now and if you would've kept mining you couldve made .013 btc instead....or if you mined alts you couldve made .25 BTC which is already 150% more.

Which hardware are you using to mine it? And how much do you generate?

I'm glad you broke even on 10 dollars and all, but what if I told you that the 10 dollars of value you see today is like 1000 dollars 3 years from now and if you would've kept mining you couldve made .013 btc instead....or if you mined alts you couldve made .25 BTC which is already 150% more.  

I elected to stop as BTCGuild charges a fee for any payout less the 0.01(as do most pools.)
The next generation of ASICs will likely ship soon, this will make the time needed to earn another 0.01 incredibly long.

I never cashed out, nor do I have any intention on cashing any of my BTC out.
I will consider cashing out if, I have a dire financial need(unlikely), or I am near death from old age and need funeral money(2064-2084?).
EDIT: It is unlikely I will need BTC for funeral expenses either, death is a inevitable expense. As someone who lives within his means I will have all money for my funeral set aside prior to death. I will probably just put all my bitcoins into a physical coin and either hide it like treasure or give it to descendants(if I have any.)

I still have the ASIC in question, Please tell me which of these altcurrencies I can get such good payout with my ASIC?

okay good - keep your BTC as long as you can!  That is a tough question to answer because there are new ones all the time.  Just because I tell you Mine PPC its up to almost .01 per PPC right NOW, you could take my advice, but it may not be valid by the time you read it because the price already dropped or the difficulty skyrocketed as everyone else is trying to hop on board and mine some, I myself have been switching around between betacoin unobtainium and joulecoin.  Keep an eye on the pools though - just have a failover setup going so you're mining another pool or altcoin so that your hardware isnt idle.  I made a healthy sum from my fpgas mining freicoin and terracoin a little while ago when block erupters were new and difficulty got out of control on those (I was making .01 a day on two 400 mh/s fpgas earlier on)
