I don't understand how people can release/announce a coin without a dedicated development team and a lot of experience with cryptos. Starting to get silly. Lots of kids wanting a make some money.

You've made a logo, made up some numbers and made a github account. Nice.

I'll admit I like your positive attitude, if you want people to take it seriously you need to be better prepared. If you're just doing this for fun then I won't try to stop you. Totally depends where you want this to go.

If you release a wallet that doesn't even have the proper graphics and names added nobody will take it seriously and it will die in a week.

This is like the 5th coin in 2 days that was announced without even a wallet ready.

Doesn't matter though. Thousands of people will still mine it and the "developer" will still make a quick buck.

Is there an easy way to compile any random wallet from the GIT on Xubuntu 13.10?
I tried that during the Moon launch when multipool died. But I didn't succeed before another pools came online, so I just went to them.
It seemed I needed some packages which weren't available from the standard repos and/or were replaced by newer but incomplete versions. Huh

i was able to compile fedoracoin using this guide (for a different coin but it worked for fedora, just swap the gut repositories..), but the binaries only worked in linux.. and i don't know how to solo mine in linux. plus you need nodes and ports for the soloin which i dunno if you can get otherwise from the op's mouth.

http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=5086.0

edit; i did this on ubunto 13.10 or .04 or whatever, not Xubuntu.

You have to have the proper dependencies installed

You can try
Code:
$sudo apt-get install build-esssential libboost-dev libdb48-dev libopenssl-dev libdb++-dev git qt-sdk
You may have to find versions that work on your specific build

Then
Code:
git clone https://github.com/anherocoin/AnHeroCoin
followed by
Code:
cd AnHeroCoin/src
make -f makefile.unix USE_UPNP=-

i was able to compile fedoracoin using this guide (for a different coin but it worked for fedora, just swap the gut repositories..), but the binaries only worked in linux.. and i don't know how to solo mine in linux. plus you need nodes and ports for the soloin which i dunno if you can get otherwise from the op's mouth.

http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?topic=5086.0

edit; i did this on ubunto 13.10 or .04 or whatever, not Xubuntu.

I install every packages which were listed on this link and I successfully compiled the FeatherCoin wallet from the terminal using make (from linux to linux, not cross-compiled for Windows). Thank you. Wink

@Foamy
Any chance you (including every other future coin developers) could give me the time (frame) of launch in standard UTC time?
I live in Europe, so I am not familiar with these 3 letter things you refer to in the OP. (I am not even sure if that is a joke or not...)

Doesn't say much about the people mining this coin.

EST (Eastern Standard Time) is UTC-5 and CST (Central Standard Time) is UTC-6. So it should be dropping within the next 20 minutes unless it misses the window.

i'm laughing so hard inside i wanna fuckin punch somebody. so once again.. for the 5th time today.. a coin will be launched without a wallet and 500-1000 blocks will be mined by himself and source-compilers before we the coin-pushers get something to work with.. god i hope this isnt fuckin true but given the history of these types of situations..

noticed how he hasn't responded -once- to delaying the launch for a wallet.. he keeps ignoring these questions and suggestions. Hey FOAMY (OP) go fuck yourself with a pineapple if you pull this shit.

I will compile and do a getinfo/getmininginfo.
If there's any premine I will just ignore this coin like many others and continue mining what I'm already mining : coins with a real future (EAC).

As a linux user, it's nice to have a source-only launch. There are rarely linux binaries available and we're usually the last to get mining because we have to compile the wallet while everyone else gets a head start.

You are encouraged to make one, there is a bounty. I tried all of the guides and spent 12 hours and 5 dif vm's trying and couldn't get one to not error out on either the dependency's or the final compile. I will keep trying.

Don't release a coin if you can't even compile the damned wallet. It's simple. It really is.

EST (Eastern Standard Time) is UTC-5 and CST (Central Standard Time) is UTC-6. So it should be dropping within the next 20 minutes unless it misses the window.

Thank you but I already left my PC when I could have read this.

And now I tried to compile a wallet and it failed to run in server mode. (I should have actually try to run that FeatherCoin wallet I made earlier.)
It says a port is already used but it isn't.
I tried to compile the QT version as well but that doesn't work (won't even compile with qmake, just like Moon).

Same issue I'm getting with the RPC port in use. You can set server=0 and get it to sync and use the integral miner, but it's not worth it.

Even getting it compiled quickly (after fixing the makefile issues) there were already over 200 blocks mined.

Remember, this coin is a reference to someone killing themselves.

Think about what that says about the buyers, sellers, creator, and miners.

Maybe this can help a woman get respect around here and get her own coin listed on the main page list

My coin is Cinnamon Coin , going strong over 3 months now

Thank you.

Remember, this coin is a reference to someone killing themselves.

Think about what that says about the buyers, sellers, creator, and miners.

Think.

I had no idea. I guess the point of some of theses memes is political incorrectness. This coin is dead to me.
