Hi, I have a MSI 280x and a Sapphire 7950. I was wondering what would my 2 .bat files look like because I want to run 2 instances of cgminer to use the gpu's to their full performance? Thanks

I have a 7950 and a 270x, I use one bat file per coin (one for btc, one for ltc, etc.). I put the following in the bat file for cgminer:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o (url):(port#) -u (username).(worker) -p (password) -I 20

everything in () I swap out for different pools, etc. Hope this helps?

7950 and 280x are a pain to run together because of the different -g values. Sell one off on ebay and buy another to match up the cards and save yourself the headache. That will allow you to run one .bat file with one setting for both cards. Much easier to deal with when tuning.

Does it really matter that much? I've heard of guys using those exact two with no issues at all - is it just difficult to configure or really inefficient? I was considering combining a 5850, a 7850 and a r9 x280, reading this made me think it's a bad idea...

Its just a pain in the ass all together. Building a miner is technical enough, the last thing you want to do is spend hours troubleshooting why one card isnt getting the hashrate that others have posted on the forums. I am not familiar with the 270x, but a 280x and 7950 aren't going to work well without running 2 instances of cgminer. If you have some extra money laying around, sell one of the cards on ebay for top dollar and buy a different card that matches the rest. The only drawback is with ebay, is that it takes paypal 21 days before the money is available to spend. (for new sellers) Hence why I mentioned the money laying around.
