Ponzi Sub-Forum?????????

Do people think we need a subforum for all this Ponzi stuff within the Gambling section?
It just seems to me that other gambling topics are getting lost in the masses of people advertising their Ponzi games... especially when there is a new topic for essentially every bitcoinduit game. Basically people make a new bitcoinduit game then advertise it on the forum... there can be 5 or so new games a day and the place is just a mess.

There were indeed way too many Bitcoinduit topics. I have locked many of them. When things get out of hand like this and reports aren't getting results, PM me.

Ignoring those, it seems to be mostly non-Ponzi gambling still.

I have counted 24 of 40 threads on the first page of Gambling are Ponzi schemes (bitcoinduit etc). Although as you say you have locked a few of them.
It just seems like a lot to me thats all.

Bitconduit should only be allowed one main thread here. Individual games can be discussed and advertised on Bitconduit itself. If they don't have their own forums, too bad.

Any post containing only "promotional text" for a link is probably spam if the site has already been announced.

Referral spam is still prohibited, of course. I don't ever read the gambling section, though, and I suppose the other moderators don't read it much, either.

However, I wouldn't consider links to your ponzi games referral spam. Just like topics announcing spreadsheet ponzi games weren't considered spam, neither should topics linking to a ponzi game just because it's hosted through a service such as Bitcoinduit.

I think they should be counted as spam.  It was different when people had to use spreadsheets, because at least then they had to put in effort... and the game wasn't hosted somewhere else so nowhere else to have discussion about it.

Bitconduit allows anyone to create a new game in under a minute, and this leads to lots of spamming.  The gambling forum seems to be about 50% circle jerk of people advertising bitconduit games.

I wish I had  never started up the ponzi thing that the original guy let die.... though it still probably would have happened anyways.

I would support a ponzi subforum, but a ponzi game is a ponzi game. If one is hosted through a reputable, automatic service rather than an individual, it is certainly no more spammy than the game hosted by the individual, if not less.

Ponzi games are fine (I even have one in my signature). But it's annoying when people post topics announcing games that are almost identical to other games, especially when they've put almost no work into creating the game.

It would be OK for Bitcoinduit games to be advertised in replies to a single topic.

I would feel much more comfortable if there were clear rules. Perhaps restrict the number of ponzi topics a user can post per week, or necessitate "twists" in the game. Better yet, allow anybody to post any ponzi game in a designated ponzi subforum.
