Hey guys, new to Bitcoin mining here.
I got the newest Bitcoin core application installed and got a wallet ID.
I downloaded guiminer and ran guiminer.exe. The icon shows up on the taskbar for a second then disappears.
Windows even logs show the following crash:

I'm running a nVidia GTX 570 with the 275.33 WHQL drivers. After getting this crash once, I tried installing the ATI/AMD OpenCL Stream SDK just to see if that would help, but I'm still getting the same thing. Can't get guiminer to launch at all... :<
The dll that is crashing is the "aticfx32.dll" which is an amd/ati dll...
Uninstall the stream SDK (you cant use it with your nvidia, only amd/ati cards) and give it a try again.
Well, like I said, I installed the Stream SDK after I had the crash once. I've since uninstalled it and get the same error. I suppose I can try running Driver Sweeper to blow out all of old ATi driver files.
EDIT: Yup, blowing out all the ATi/AMD drivers fixed it. I'm surprised this was nessisary. I'm pretty sure the only drivers that I had left for ATi/AMD were the Windows 7 default ones. And last time I blew those out, I was unable to install Windows 7 SP1 without them, caused all kinds of problems.

Well, there's your problem. nVidia cards are signifacantly worse than AMD cards for mining, unless you're got crazy cheap or free electricity, you'll probably spend more money on the electricity than you'll get from mining.
Yeah, I've read all about the AMD cards being more efficient for mining. But that's clearly not my actual problem here. Thanks anyway.
