Try add nodes from wallet console (Help -> Debug) with command: addnode dime.mine-pool.net onetry

The client from: http://sourceforge.net/projects/dimecoin/files/ which you appear to have, contains a working .conf file. If you're running Windws 7, you need to ensure that this file gets put into the C:\users\%username%\appdata\roaming\dimecoin folder. If you get it up and running, send me your address and we'll test by sending you some dimes.
