I totally agree. DOGE is indeed a good example of a coin that was in the beginning promising but was laughed with and make a very nice progress

They had to scrap their plans to release the wallet/miner days early because legal pressure forced them to move up the launch. According to them on IRC, it will be made available in time. At least the wallet. The specialty miner may have to wait a few days but it doesn't really matter. Just use the miner programs you've always used.

This is a BAD thing and I warned about it with the RonPaulCoin - naming a coin after a public figure is just asking for a lawsuit.

Sure, the coin creators have some anonymity and may be difficult to physically track down.  But the owners of the exchanges and this forum may be much easier to find.  What happens when Cryptsy, CoinedUp, or bitcointalk.org are sent cease & desist letters from Conye's lawyers?  What happens if they are subpoena'd for all server logs and other information they have related to the coin's creators and/or users?

These things hurt the cryptocurrency world as a whole, and just make it look a joke or "shady hacker stuff" to the outside world.

I understand the "there's no such thing as bad press" idea.  Short-term yes, this *may* cause an increase of value in the CoinyeWest coin.  Long-term, this has potential to hurt the community in general.  Crypto-currency will never be taken seriously if the only media attention we get is about law suits, black markets like Silk Road and silly "joke" coins like DOGE.

Whilst i agree with what your saying on the whole, and would never go near this coin in the first place (its a piece of shit cmon) i cant understand why theyve had to change anything!? What trademark have they infringed?

The image is a cartoon, which unless breachess copyright of the original author posses no problem.
The code is open source.
