I hope so! Is there any technology that exists right now that I'm not aware of that allows for goods & services to be purchased or sold online or in person the way we use Venmo or Paypal?
Lots of payment processors but do really lacks on merchants which do accept it.We cant really fully able to compare the service of paypal into crypto thing. They wont really be easily suppressed since we do know that Paypal wont really allow to be replaced in terms of payment processing and its quite confident because most merchants do always prefer for those things who are backed by government.

There are existing services that accepts Bitcoin as payments but is limited to some items though but it is still a good start and i think it is due to some regulations that's why there are products that are not listed. Some of them accepts Bitcoin as payments for a luxury cars and houses and some accepts for a simple stuffs or any product that mostly bought in every country. All you have to do is to research what you were looking for because some of them accepts Bitcoin as payments for a cup of coffee.

Japan and Canada allow bitcoin payment method. As there are many other countries living in the shadow of fear that bitcoin might overcome their economy system, they still are struggling with it. Therefore, it is going to take many years for it to be recognized and set as a payment method.

That is why I support countries like Japan because they are smart and know how to deal with things. Bitcoin is a threat, that is a fact. But they knew how to transform it into a good one

Bitcoin has seen its days as a payment currency for small things like it would just be weird to pay 1$ for a coffee and then 10$ for the transfer fee, so its obsolete in that way, many altcoins now are much faster and better as currency for paying things, but bitcoin is a good asset to use for larger payments though and that is great, it could be used to calculate stocks or some kinda equity or stake in something and then paid out via btc but I think that is the only use for it nowadays except for trading ofcourse, its always solid for trading as the main currency.

Too early for that even if governments would accept it.
A long way to go. Here is a roadmap )
1. Get a faster and cheaper system than bitcoin widely accepted in internet shops and between people.
2. Decentrilized exchanges rise or security tokens become legal.
3. Stablecoin based on stakes in companies with real value and moderate growth appears.
4. At this point it makes sense for a common person to keep most of the assets in stable coins and buy goods with them, while keeping a small part of assets in volatile alts and common shares.

you can use Bitcoin for making payments for various goods or services. You can buy some presents through gift cards, via Gyft or eGfifter. You can even pay for flights or hotels with Bitcoin through Expedia and Cheap air. Microsoft also accepts Bitcoin in its app stores, where you can download movies, games and app-based services. There are many more use cases, but these are just small purchases that are being made on small scale. I don’t think so it can be used for purchasing daily use items any time soon.

it's possible but i think with the current price of bitcoin and the transaction speed + fee on each transactions, it's not really suited on micro-transactions
other altcoin such as NANO have a great chance to reach and run the micro-transactions

Its beyond me where the value of bitcoin comes from, 1 1/2 years ago there were more real world usages for it then nowadays, the most widely used currency at this point is monero which is used to purchase drugs and goods on the darknet but it doesnt represent in the coin value at all.

Normally monero and ethereum should share the number one place since they are the only two currencies which have a real usage scenario beyond hodling and daytrading, its a good reflection of our currenc world tho were hype is valued higher then any actual usage (can be observed across multiple industries)

Yes very possible, but the negatives like transaction fee and delay in transaction must be tackled.

Dont worry when there is the halving you can find the bitcoin price started bumping and decimal points you can use upto the 16 digits to for the transaction. So you will be see the transaction fee has been reduced in the marketplace.

Segwit implemented means again you can see the bitcoin transaction speed move up.

The answer is definitely a "YES". Its going to be sooner than you can think.Expect Bitcoin to be used as payment system just like PayPal in real world payments. As I am chatting with you now, bitcoin can buy digital product in some online shops and as the world is gradually gearing towards bitcoin transactions,do not be surprised if bitcoin becomes accepted in real world purchases.
