Hey folks, I am a newbie to cryptocurrencies but not to technology in general. I have a 108 core cluster (9 machines each with dual hexacore XEONs) and would like to mine Yacoin on it.

I installed this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=202407.0

./minerd -o http://yac.ltcoin.net:5555 -u (myuser) -p (mypass) -a scrypt-jane --threads 12

But keep getting the following errors

[2014-01-03 10:32:04] HTTP request failed: Failure when receiving data from thepeer
[2014-01-03 10:32:04] json_rpc_call failed, retry after 30 seconds
[2014-01-03 10:33:13] HTTP request failed: Failure when receiving data from the

Any ideas?

Is (myuser) your login, or worker's login?
I suggest mining some CPU-only coin (like Primecoin/Protoshare) rather than scrypt - it will be far more profitable.
Sorry - I din't read that YAC is/was cpu-only.

The worker or pool url must be wrong.. Double check that(The worker is not your login in the pool account!) or try another pool
