I happen to be lucky enough to currently be in a position to influence the CEO and CFO of a major fortune 500 company to become a merchant accepting BTC. This company is over 100 years old, has a major online presence and would be the first of its kind to accept bitcoin in the world. Convincing this company to become a merchant for BTC would make the overstock news seem sort of ho hum. This CEO is familiar with bitcoin
but only through articles earlier in the year that had negative silk road info attached to it. I could tell in the face to face meetings I have had with them that they are concerned about the negative PR that could possibly come from accepting BTC. I countered with the overstock news which had actually broken only three hours prior to our meeting and it seemed to assuage their fears. They like the rest of us are waiting to see what overstock will do I guess. In the interim, until my next meeting with this CEO and CFO which is in 2 weeks, what are some of the critical talking points you would use to convey to them that becoming a BTC merchant is a win win?

I have demonstrated bitpay to them and coinbase. I also downloaded and installed a wallet for them.
We have had 3, four hour, informal, face to face meetings together in the past 4 months where the only topic was Bitcoin.
This might actually happen they may soon become BTC merchants which would ofcourse be nice.
I am doing this for them for free in the hopes that they adopt BTC so we all win.
The important thing is that they requested this bitcoin info, demonstrations and meetings from me because I accidentally let it slip 4 months ago at our first meeting on an unrelated project that I was mining bitcoins and had purchased some ASIC bitcoin miners and suddenly the room went quiet and the CEO and CFO simultaneously said "whats a bitcoin?"and it progressed from there.
Can I count on the bitcoin community to support this company should they adapt BTC?
I can use some good sound advice right now.
Who out there in the bitcoin community wants to jump in and help me with this?
pm me text me email me thx!

What kind of steps could we, as a community, do for you?

Other than pledging to make purchases from said company using BTC once its platform is operational, there just doesn't seem to be much more we can do since you seem to have all of the access needed with the right people.

I'm glad you even got to sit with the CEO and CFO for hours at a time to discuss BTC!

I am glad about it too!
Yes that would be great if and when the time comes! I just wanted to put my thoughts down and brainstorm a bit. got an error when I originally posted this so admin may delete one of my redundant posts.
its amazing how this came about and I just want to be pre-positioned so that when I tell them the community will be behind them that I can actually deliver.

its encouraging to me that you responded. I hope others like you follow suit with words of encouragement, ideas etc to help me wade through the fud. thanks!

It's tough to guarantee that we'll be purchasing from the company for sure since we don't know which company it is, but I can definitely say that if it's anything up my alley, I most definitely will.

I'm sure the rest of the community would support you just as much, too!

Whatever happens, good luck!
