After watching debacle after debacle here... watching new coins launching but failing miserably and people posting messages from block issues, to wallet issues and from pool issues to forking issues along with accusations that developers are deliberately causing issues on advertised pools while they mine away themselves elsewhere because they advertised and promoted the coin as 'No Pre-mine"

Some coins are being launched without the wallets being ready! Too many coins being launched....

For every successful launch, how many unsuccessful launches are there?

Altcoin creation is starting to become a factory process, with two services popping up in the last few days that do all the work for you. There will be less bad launches, but many more crapcoins.

In 12 hours it is about ot go to 0, there will be a slew of coins from the various cheap creations services, as soon as that happens, if you are not one of the orginal coins from before december, then your dead

no well know deveolper =  Dead
scrypt  =Dead
no ddos and 51% attack protection = dead
no real developers to help with coin advancment = dead
nothing new to offer   =     dead

It is getting beyond a joke now.. people prepare in advance for mining and then they find out the dev was a flop...

Not good

The only coins likely to survive after this next explosion are the genuinly good coins, and the mediocre coins that have already been created.

Before long mining new altcoins will be automated, and then new altcoins will be dead. No exchange would list them.

The exchanges would probably up their criteria for listing new coins. Anyway, miners aren't going to spread their hashrate so thinly. Perhaps at long last we'll get some discerning choices made.

Tell me about it. I don't know why people don't just mine good older coins. Like OFF or MEME or something. At least they work properly.

Exchanges exist to make money so they would always find one to trade at. Like here in the UK we have the FTSE and AIM. Maybe there will be a 2, 3 or 4 tier exchange where altcoins such as BTC and LTC will be in tier#1 and something like a failed altcoin would be in tier#4?

What can we do to influence the launch of badly thought out crypto?

okay I have a new idea for a proof of work coin.
it consists of compiling new altcoin clients as it's proof of work.

Enough with the ridiculous overhyped preannouncements. All it does is oversaturate with pools and kill coin launches, overloading this forum and making whales richer.

Yes absolutely! Some are valid and excite but some are just blowing their own trumpet and when it is time to talk the talk they flourish but when it is time to walk the walk and put their money where their mouth is, it is a FAIL!

Giftcoin launch went fine. The coin difficulty was not aggressive enough. Only now, on block 10,000 is it at .25000.

I think a good way to launch is to release the wallet and source first in .zip with passwords. We will see how the overhyped Coiney West goes. That is going to be their strategy.

Thank you for the link.

How can we (or anyone) force devs to sign up to a convention of sort and let miner and newbies know what the benefits of that convention actually are?

It is hard to make a regulatory body to organise and oversee these matters.

you wont have to worry about COinye West scrypt coins will be dead buy then,  litecoins are already starting to dip, they are the backbone of alts.  they will crash  for a while, then alts will crash hard, then we will finally see the landscape.
