Without explaining too much about politics, I think Mexico is the best place for Bitcoin hands down.

A friend of mine is already looking into a BTC exchange where coins are purchased in the US for a small fee, then a contact in Mexico turns them into Pesos.

But if you ask me, I think the idea was probably good 20 to 10 years ago. People don't really send as much as before. The families that came here to work have now families of their own. So they don;t send as much. I still think it is a great idea but it would be harder to sell.

I have no idea what the remittance is, I have used other online companies but it has been more than a year.

From this trip I learned that:

1) Most young Mexicans have heard about bitcoins. We young latins are very techie too.
2) Those who have heard about them have no idea how they work, how to buy them, and what to do with them.
3) Most of them will not spend their money buying bitcoins, they will rather work for bitcoin (Kind of like me, but I have bought a few quantities earlier.)
4) Most think it is a real revolution but one that may just pass them by because they can't afford them or earn them (at least now).
5) Those who have not heard about them, once I explained to them, they were very interested and thought it was a great idea.
6) I convinced a total of 6 people to buy bitcoins using localbitcoin. This actually really really means a lot. In a place where people steal from everybody every second, and people usually do not trust other with heir money, for someone to wire money to an account and hope to receive something back in minutes (in Mexico!) it is outrageous.

So, my final word is: Let's invest in Mexico. Let's gain one country at a time. Mexico has the infrastructure but lack heavily in government.

I'd tend to think that since cartels more or less control Mexico, and that BTC could definitely benefit them (if it doesn't already), then Mexico would definitely be a great place for BTC...
