After seeing a few horrific launches, I would like to create this thread as a catch-all for a check list to create a smooth launch with 89% less tears than other launches.

Your advice is appreciated!

make sure you have wallets for ALL freaking OS or don't even bother with it.

Like Boz said, you can go unannounced and just say it's coming next week and first in first out .

But if you want to have an actual date announced, password zip your wallets and have them available for download 1 hour ahead of time so everybody can have it downloaded and you post the password to unzip and no one can't complain they wallet not being ready at launch. It also fix 2 side effect cause by the surge of traffic, low download speed (a 15mb file shouldn't take 5minutes to download) and you don't crash the forum because 500 people are all refreshing every seconds... seen 502 and 503 errors lately?

Offer proper solo mining time, there's no point of having a pool ready when the difficulty level is so damn low at the beginning, it also helps making a proper chain without forks because you don't have 100 sources discovering the same block because of the pool hashing power. Pools should kick in when the difficulty level requires them.

Obviously, do not freaking pre-mine, there's no debate or possible argument, ever, don't do it. LOL

TEST TEST TEST! it's easy and simple.

That should cover it Smiley

Ive noticed the pools being an issue lately, Ill make a point of that, no pools permitted for as long as possible.
