RiceCoin (RCC) is a scrypt based cryptocurrency like litecoin. The maximum coins number is 10,000,000 (10M). Every ten minutes will release one block, each block having 50 RiceCoin. The major difference is :

Each RiceCoin is commodity-backed by one grain of Rice
Every RiceCoin is backed by a grain of rice. I personally donate 10,000,000 grains of rice. Everyone could come to me to ask for one grain of rice with one RiceCoin.

RiceCoin will be launched on 15 Jan 2014. More information coming soon.

The experts at yahoo answers have determined there are 7,200 grains of rice per cup. Therefore this is equivalent to ~1388 cups of rice.

Wow, but anyhow. I am a foundation backing Bitcoin with rice. Each grain of rice can be redeemed by sending me 1 btc.
