because i'm big fan of 42 coin and personally i think it will compete with bitcoin one day , i want to help it rise and reach its place next to Btc and Ltc , i think it will be the next big thing in crypto world if the community give it the attention and start spread it across the world , so i made this logo design with a slogan and im ready to start a media campaign by designing and compose trailer and some Propaganda videos,let the criticism begins Grin.

note : i will provide my psd design if i won the Logo Design Contest , so let me know guys if you like it Wink

I think the contest is over, but I could be wrong:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=399658.msg4367304#msg4367304

i really dont care about the contest and prize as much as i wanted to make a proper logo design for this coin to help the devs hendo and maco make 42 look better , i hope they adopt my design if they like it , and i can also make the same design for the wallet-qt launcher splash .

You're right. Prize doesn't matter. This coin really deserve more attention.
BTW - your logo is well refined! I like it ^^

thanx , i changed the slogan to the original one and made some tweaks , suggestions are welcomed  Smiley
but i feel im just wasting my time , there is no cooperation from the devs  Undecided , or maybe they just dont like my design  Roll Eyes

I will talk to Maco today.  Wink

Has net hash rate really dropped to 165MH/s?  The allure of this coin is already dying off?

That gave me an idea...

I will create a new coin next week, mainly because everyone else is these days and will call it the Toothless Coin lol

And the unit shall be called Dentures.

And before you all start to scream and shout. I am only kidding.

I have a question / suggestion.

A Dent is the equivalent of a Bitcoin satoshi, yes?  (0.00000001 [42])

I do love the choice in the new wallet to display in Dents, but is it necessary to have the decimal point and extra 0 in the display?

e.g. Mined +4200.0 Dents

Is it even possible to have a fraction of a Dent?

(Up to 29870 Dents now!)

Cryptsy:  All new look - USD Trading coming soon!

I. You need to have proper 42.conf file.
You maybe have already in your qt client folder an example 42.conf. If not, create a .txt file, edit it and save it as 42.conf
It should look quite like this:
Code:
rpcuser=user
rpcpassword=password
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=4242
addnode=198.199.116.77
addnode=162.243.205.200
addnode=192.241.138.198
addnode=192.241.153.49
daemon=1
server=1
listen=1

127.0.0.1 is localhost. You may also add 192.168.0.0.x (whatever your subnet is)

ex.:
Code:
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1;192.168.0.0.6

you simply add ";" between adresses

Save the 42.conf file in:
Code:
C:\Users\User\AppData\Roaming\42

this is the data folder. You can change its path, but I will tell about it later.

II. You need to start a server. Make sure you have a proper 42.conf file in data folder (not 42.conf.txt!).

1. Create a shortcut of 42-qt.exe

2. Go to properties of the shortcut (R mouse click on it - properties)

3. In the field "Target" type after the whole path "-server"

ex:
Code:
H:\Cryptocurrencies\42\42-qt.exe -server

Accept - OK

Off topic.
While you already under the shortcut's hood
You may also change path of the data folder by typing simply -datadir="path". ex.:
Code:
H:\Cryptocurrencies\42\42-qt.exe -server -datadir=blocks&wallet

By typing in this particular example -datadir=blocks&wallet you actually change the path to:
Code:
H:\Cryptocurrencies\42\blocks&wallet

You may also type:
Code:
H:\Cryptocurrencies\42\42-qt.exe -server -datadir=H:\Cryptocurrencies\DATADIR\42

And it will set the data folder there.

MAKE SURE THAT THE FOLDER EXIST BEFORE YOU RUN IT

III.
Now you start qt by running 42-qt-shortcut.exe and... start mining. You just normally set your miner, but instead pool's URL, login and password you type:
Code:
-o http://127.0.0.1:24242 -u user -p password

 I apologize for my terrible English! Cool
