I would stick with bitcoin. Say a single coin is $1000 and you buy £300 worth so thats 0.3 bitcoin. If the value goes to $10000 per coin then you can add an extra 0 on you initial investment.  Look at the future of bitcoin with more mainstream websites picking it up and even the porn industry has adopted it now.  Remember betamax vs VHS?  VHS wasn't as good but the porn idustry adopted it and VHS became the standard. Job adverts are being posted for bitcoin traders now so to me all this indicates a massive prce hike for bitcoin in the future.  You need to research and get an understanding for yourself because the alt currencies that people push are usually the ones they hold most of .  If you really want an alt to bitcoin then get Quark (advise based on the fact that I hold a little quark so my advice to you is really only to benefit myself) Ask somebody else and they'll recommend a coin they hold.

I do agree with this. If you hate fractions, think of 0.3 bitcoin in satoshis.

Only thing I disagree with the above post is investing in Quark, its a heavily pre-mined coin.

Here is something in Quarks defence http://www.quarkcoin.cc/2013/12/14/mythbuster-pre-mine-with-max-g-qrk-main-developer/
I don't have much at all so I wouldn't be too upset if it failed.  I only have what I'm prepared to lose invested in the other alt currencies. Every alt coin is a gamble at the moment and over the next year or so we'll see who's left standing.  I really hope it isn't the new coinye coin though.

Do not invest in altcoins longterm, you will loose money most likely.
If your good trader, it could make sence trading the altcoins, but holding altcoins is suicide.

Yeah put it in the bank, it's safe as houses there  Roll Eyes
There's nothing wrong in holding a little.  The early bitcoin holders haven't done too badly so far.

I'm in the same position like you mate. Last month I invested some money in FTC. What do you think about Dimecoin guys is it risky?

FTC was a good investement i think...
Dimecoin has a price of 1.9e-0.6 so with only 10USD you can buy alot of them if they go high you win a lot if it isnt you not gonna
lose a lot of money Smiley

Thanks mate, any idea where can i buy some Dimes?

I dont i use this:http://coinmarketcap.com
this way you go to their correct website and on their website i dont see any way to buy dimes

Well, my advice is:

1- Find something you can get in on from the start, day one. This will get you the cheapest buy-in price, which in turn will get you the biggest return with that investment, assuming it does not tank.

2- Find something with a lead developer that is known, and is not a scammer. You will need to do a little homework here.

3- Find something that is not just another copy of Bitcoin, but that is actually original and innovative. We don't need minor tweaks of Bitcoin anymore, we need Bitcoin 2.0

4- Make sure the launch is 100% fair. (no 14 million coins for an elite few in the beginning *cough, NXT, cough*)

With all that said, right now I would wait on Curecoin, since it truly revolutionary, at least it will be when it launches. The positive publicity alone should drive the price much higher than your initial investment.

I would also look at eMunie. The pre-launch sale is right around the corner, and the founder is actually doing it all legit and fair. It's a 2nd gen crypto that is shaping up to blow all existing coins out of the water, in terms of original features, security, anonymity and it's function as a stable store of value. Assuming we take everything at face value that is.

depends on how much of a chance u want to take and if you can stomach the ups and downs...
WDC, MEG, DGC are safe bets for good returns...WDC should pop in February...
DOGE, Lotto etc. (any newer coin) will be pushed down by all the mining but in 3 to 6 months who knows...

garcias,

Curecoin I am not sure of the exact launch date, but it should be in the next 1-2 months I'd imagine. It's best to go check out their forums for updates.

eMunie will be ready Q1 this year, but you can get in on the pre-launch sale this month if you sign up at their forums.

REMEMBER, due diligence! I would spend at least a week reading up on them, don't just take my word or anyone else word. The only way to see through the clutter is due diligence.

Read the forums for different altcoins. Don't do your research on these forums as so many people will bash one another to try to make the coin they support look better. In the end the best advice you can be given is the advice you give yourself through due diligence!

Regarding paysafecard, I would see if anyone want's to trade paysafe for bitcoin, maybe you could avoid the 20% that way? Why can you only use paysafe? You don't have a bank account? Or you already have the paysafe and want to use it on coins?
