Datacoin is NOT 'Strictly CPU!'

Its smelted away at least 10x faster as the fastest CPU you have...

You have confused Datacoin with all the new bullshit copies of quark it seems. There is no smelter for Datacoin or Primecoin. Those two coins are the only real CPU mined!

That being said i have send everyone. Continue to post! many more DTCs to be sent!

I am not sure what a smelter is, but the statement that Datacoin mining is CPU only is absolutely false. I have an Nvidia GPU (EVGA GTX 780 Ti Classified) miner for Primecoin/Datacoin that is about 8x faster when compared to the CPU (Intel i7-4770K). Also keep in mind that even when using a high end FPGA for Primecoin mining, it is far superior to the fastest CPU, however, it is not cost effective. Also, an ASIC is nothing more than a stripped down CPU designed to be extremely efficient for a specified workload.

I am pretty sure that the point is what is more efficient/cost effective means what type of coin it is. And from what i have seen GPUs are not efficient enough to be used for Datacoin/Primecoin. Now i would like to see others also answer this though.

As of today, a mining rig with two GTX 780 Ti Classifieds GPUs and one Intel Core i7 CPU (Haswell) is as efficient as you are going to get in terms of performance per watt and the best price to performance ratio. Also, do not bother with AMD GPUs, they are not as good for multiple precision modular arithmetic. However, the AMD GPUs are very good for implementing secure hash functions.

Hey dataheads,

I've decided to give 10DTC to the person who writes the best message on the cryptsy thread, according to me. Competition closes when the thread has 250 likes.

Hey man nice idea! But maybe make a thread if you mean it so that maybe more people can see that!
