There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

House of Cards would be a great venue. All it takes it a Bitmillionaire to pay someone over at Netflix or the director.

They have multiple directors for the show...

But as another user pointed out, if it were to be mentioned or play a role in a film's plot, my money's on a crime/thriller film.

I wonder if a virtual heist film would work out on the screen?

I hadn't thought of that, but it would totally fit!

I'm anxious to see the quality/feel/tone of the show, though.

Bitcoin was already in a crime show. It was just a few lines but it was mentioned in Almost Human. Episode was about people who needed new hearts and were getting extorted for artificial ones. One woman was using BTC to make her payments and had a mobile wallet in her sock.

Episode 6 Saison 1 at 30min45s ...  Cheesy
4999 BTC on a metal stick.  Roll Eyes

from another thread:

Ripple and Bitcoin were both mentioned yesterday in a show called "The Blacklist" as well.

In the show a government analyst supposedly transferred $5,000,000 from a bank account through Ripple to ECash exchanging it for Bitcoin and then sending it through a mixing service that he trusted before transferring it to a new bank account to make the transfer untraceable (All in under 120 seconds).

I guess they can't be expected to get all the details right, since it would make for a boring show to have to sit around and set up false identifications, get verified by an exchange, and wait for confirmations.

it came on Simpsons as a small note but getting a movie for it is too difficult (maybe a documentary but a Hollywood movie?). there might be a movie closely related to BTC's though, The SilkRoad one  Shocked

20th century fox is already working on a Silkroad movie  Smiley.  Not sure ont he release date but should be interesting.

It's interesting to see how they will pull a move like that off with pretty much most of it being set in the virtual world. Maybe it will just centre mostly on drama around DPR and his supposed double life etc.

Yeah I would imagine it's like most internet/tech based movies , focuses on the person running the site/business and the trials and tribulations they go through.

I'm interested in it, but I'll probably be one of those people just complaining how fabricated most of it is. No doubt they'll give Ross a love interest etc haha.

OK we have seen it on Simpsons, so where are we going to see it again on TV or even better, in Hollywood!!!???

A Bond movie perhaps???

Mission Impossible....Huh

Terminator....Huh

Transformers..Huh

Wall Street sequel...Huh

My money *erhem* I mean BTC is on a Silk Road movie in which DPR is inevitably portrayed by Benedict Cumberbatch. Maybe it could be called: "Feds, where's my Bitcoins?"
