For those who need help with this.
What i realized from having my paper wallets encrypted is it can be very difficult to find a way to import these when you need them.
To decrypt these for the BitcoinQT wallet is to visit
www.bitaddress.org and go to the tab wallet details and paste your private key on the paper wallet into the wallet details field and click view details.
A new field showing a place to enter your passphrase and a decrypt button. After that, a new private key should be generated and that is the one you will use for the "importprivkey" function in BitcoinQT.
