Hello, will this riser be sufficient for 280x saphire toxic card?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PCI-E-16X-to-1X-Adapter-Riser-Card-Flex-Extension-Cable-w-Molex-Power-Connector-/181285248039?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item2a35715c27

It has only 2/4 pins, will it be enough? and why?

Also, what is that white marshmallow near to x16 PCI-E slot? Tongue

Thank You in advance Wink

Yes, but you may not need the white marshmallow (capacitor) if you motherboard does not need a short between the pins A1 B17.

what do You mean by "does not need a short between the pins A1 B17."

You mean if the slot is x1 and not higher?

Some motherboards require pins A1 and B17 to be connected together with a wire to tell the driver the slot is occupied. A 1x PCIe card does this as standard but 16x PCIe cards have a different signal mechanism to tell the driver that a slot is occupied. Adding a 1x to 16x riser cable and 16x card may not tell the driver that the slot is occupied without pins being connected together. The capacitor makes sure that the correct signal is sent to the driver.

Awesome! Thank You kindly.

Could You also explain me why it has only 2/4 pins? will it be enough for 350-400W card? and why? (on MOLEX)

The other 2 pins are not needed. The yellow and black are 12V and ground. The Red wire is for 5V (not needed to the slot) and another ground. It will work fine.

At the end of each month I will donate some of them back to the community.

The capacitor has nothing to do with the pci-e presence detect pin, it is just to filter the 12V power the molex cable provides. You might still have to use a presence detect jumper wire, cat5/6 solid works really well.

Please DO NOT send me private messages asking for help setting up GPU miners. I will not respond!!!

There are 4 pins that require +12v on PCIe 1x. In the one you have linked there are two yellow wires, one for each side of the 16x connector, fed from the Molex connector. There are also two black ground wires which are used alongside the capacitor to signal a card is in the slot.
