If I was filthy rich and didn't even need to worry about managing my investments I would definitely settle down in French Polynesia. At least that's what I would like to believe, maybe I would get bored out of my mind after a year or two there.  Smiley
My mother is from there. It is the fucking paradise. At the horizon, the infinite sky is melting with the deep blue ocean.  When the big ships go far away, you can see them falling behind the horizon limit. It feels like the time stopped. You feel infinity and eternity.
At night, the sky is so saturated with bright stars that you can see like it is the day.
It's like being on heroin all the time.
People are extremely nice and peaceful too. They are great dancer and musician, they just worry about enjoying life everyday. Girls want to fuck all the time.
Why the fuck am I staying in France. I hate French people so much (the food is good though).
Beautifully described Smiley Thats my dream, to live somewhere near the ocean, have a small house on the beach and a boat. What saddens me the most is that it wouldn't be hard to make it happen. If I sold all my stuff I'd have enough to move and buy a house there. But there are other issues like leaving friends behind, or not having enough to come back in case something went wrong. It's like burning bridges behind you. If I don't do it though I'll be dreaming about it till I die.

Changing environment require sacrifices. Even if you are granted the chance to go to paradise right now, would you do it ? Most people would be scared and wouldn't.
You need to leave all your habits. Habits are part of you. Even my mother who is from Polynesia wouldn't like to live there because she'd gotten used to Occidental way of life. All her life she felt stuck between the two cultures. She plan to go back as she get older.

Maybe you could go to your dream place when you have nothing to loose, when you are older.

Most governments are corrupt. I'd say the US and UK are far more corrupt than most devolving countries, and they're usually puppet regimes supported by them anyway.
Lol US and UK? Try going to Mexico, Cuba or some countries of the former Soviet Union. This is Corruption, with capital C.

That would be great - I don't want to end up like my parents, living my whole life in the same country and never seeing the world. It's not the habits I have a problem with, I could manage without computer and a grocery store next to my house. The worst habit are people you like spending time with.

True. Democracy existed until power hungry people learned to bend the rules in their favour.

I was thinking this the other day and I found it hard to choose one

I am a nature lover so I would like to stay at a place that is close to nature. Tropical islands are example of such a place. There are lots of Tropical Islands in the world such as:
•         Seychelles
•         Maldives
•         Solomon island
•         Ko Lipe
•         Bali
I am a calm person and for me Solomon Island is the perfect place providing all the necessities. It’s a beautiful island where one can enjoy diving, mesmerizing beaches, adorable tourist spots etc. You can expect a great stay here. There is Airport (International Honiara Airport), Trendy shopping place (Honiara's expansive Central Market), World class hotels (visit websites www.zipolohabu.com.sb, www.solomonislandsresorts.com, www.heritageparkhotel.com.sb ) etc.

I would choose a place in the Mediterranean, like southern France, Tuscany... or somewhere in Croatia... or, maybe, place like Rome, with all its history, modern noise  and crowds of tourists and pilgrims...  Smiley

Oooh this is a tough one. I think New Zealand is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but I really like the Nordic countries for good government. Would probably go with NZ though.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.

As far as I know climate is pretty moderate cause its surrounded by ocean. So not much temperature variation in summer vs. winter. But the real gem with New Zealand is that there's so many different environments all in one place - there's sandy beaches, there's snow-capped mountains, there's forests, rivers, etc all in one place.

All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.
