Hello everybody, my name is Frank. I've been reading these boards for months and have decided to start posting since I'll be building my first rig in the next day or two, God willing.

This week, I'll be building my first rig. The parts should be delivered Monday so I hope to have the system up sometime Tuesday. I'll be running 3x Sapphire r9 290x on an ASRock 990fx board using an AMD FX 4130. I have a modula 1350w power supply and ill start off with 4gb ram and add some more if need be. I've been mining on a single GPU but want to step it up. I'll be using a gaming PC case. I'll see what type of hashing power I can get out of the cards. If it's close to 2800 or 3000 khs I'll be happy. If not, I may have to do some overclocking. Let me know what you guys think.

I'm one of the few lucky ones who has power included in the rent; However, I don't got too much power. Only 2 or 3 old 15 amp breakers. I'll still be giving the system a run. I hope it doesn't overload and cause the breaker to switch off. Time will tell.

I just want to thank everybody who posts for doing such a great job! Keep up the good work.

sure, let me add it:

RAIDMAX Agusta ATX-605BT Black/Titanium Steel / Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
3 x SAPPHIRE 100361BF4SR Radeon R9 290X 4GB GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 BattleField 4 Game Edition Video Card
ASRock 990FX Extreme3 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
1 x AMD FX-4130 Zambezi 3.8GHz Socket AM3+ Quad-Core Desktop Processor FD4130FRGUBOX
1 x Thermaltake Toughpower TP-1350M 1350W ATX 12V v2.3 / EPS 12V v2.91 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS SILVER Certified ...
Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model 991995

No need for a harddrive. I plan on running a live version of Fedora Linux. I keep the program on a network drive.

It ran about $2500. I could have gone with a 4x 290x system but I'd have to build a crate rig and I got the kids running around so I needed a solid case. 4 of those cards in a case also seems very restrictive to air flow so I settled for 3.

That's epic mate.

How do you think they will stack up against the 7970s?

Reckon I should bother with the them or just go for the new card?
