I just spent a couple hours reading through Satoshi's 1,000+ posts and plucked out my four favorites: 1. (I’ve been working on bitcoin’s design) since 2007. At some point I became convinced there was a way to do this without any trust required at all and couldn’t resist to keep thinking about it. 2. Lost coins only make everyone else’s coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone. 3. Sorry to be a wet blanket. Writing a description for (bitcoin) for general audiences is bloody hard. There’s nothing to relate it to. 4. I’m sure that in 20 years there will either be very large (bitcoin) transaction volume or no volume. I've got a couple dozen more here: http://crypt.la/2014/01/06/satoshi-nakamoto-quotes/

Awesome, I'm just reading your extended list. What a smart man, and look, unlike the Fed, he says deflation doesn't kill us: 2. Lost coins only make everyone else’s coins worth slightly more. Think of it as a donation to everyone.
Satoshi for Fed President!

You left out the single most famous Satoshi quote:
"The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks."
The famous comment on the very first bitcoin transaction, by Satoshi Nakamoto himself.
Seems to indicate the reason why Bitcoin exists in the first place.
The very motivation behind it.
Good stuff!

"Yes, [we will not find a solution to political problems in cryptography,] but we can win a major battle in the arms race and gain a new territory of freedom for several years. Governments are good at cutting off the heads of a centrally controlled networks like Napster, but pure P2P networks like Gnutella and Tor seem to be holding their own."

Let's not turn this into a "who is Satoshi" thread ..... like @cp1 said, lots of people go to school in England. I very much doubt he was a Brit Great quotes though, love the one about "writing a description for general audience is bloody hard". It must have been at the start, but I think the bitcoin community is making progress on that one still bloody hard though !

I think it would be cool if satoshi reveals himself on his death bed, then again I suppose at that point it might be hard to prove it's even him.

I'm sure he could find lots of ways to prove it But I hope he does it before he reaches that stage .... imagine he was just about to reveal his identity and "went" a bit early.

LOL@ this one: July 15, 2010: That’s surprising that we’ve never heard of that (error) before now. Maybe you’re the first person to ever run it on Vista

i actually believe its a single person. its hard for a group of people to have the same trend of thought. you see his quotes, you know it comes from one person.

Yeah, those quotes look like they came from one person - he'll turn up one day at a conference and explain all - just hope I'm alive to see it!

Lots of foreigners learn English from...
... the Internet. "bloody" or "bollocks" is too typical British so it doesn't point to an English native speaker from UK at all.

Maybe, it depends on when that "bloody" quote was from. My feeling is, the earlier it was posted, the more likely it was simply normal usage and not something dropped in an attempt to throw people off his tail. Im guessing by the time Satoshi realized his anonymity problem, he realized it was better to just stop posting at all rather than change his usage.

It's one person writing, but they could have split up the tasks - writing, developing, etc...
