Created by a BitCoin developer; seems like this was a covert attempt to get rid of a lot of the alternate coin competition.

Make all of the alt-coins seem like junk AND get cash on the side.

Evil but smart.

This guy could up his sale price to 0.1 BTC and make a fortune.

Yep, it's a deliberate attempt to cripple the altcoin market. I think it'll have the reverse effect though. Now the only coins that survive will be the good ones.

It is recommended that every cryptocurrency coin created must include step by step instructions on how to solo mine their coin. I've seen many alt coins out there but rarely any instructions on how to solo mine them.

YAY

SHITCOINs just got alot easier to make!!!

I hope there is a section on this site that teach people not to just clone a crap coin and expect the world but to actually change some stuff in there and offer a world changer not just InsteadCrapNameHereCoin.

Too late for that. 80% of the coins out right now are all hype.

The only true benefit is the profitability which is why most of the coins were introduced in the first place.

Now thinking about it personally I could care less; they actually help BitCoin as (1) they get more people mining and conversely (2) get more people using BitCoins.

Selling binaries of open source code? Check
Withholding the code so you can sell a "remove branding" option as an extra? Check
Forcing people to pay extra for open source code? Check

Someone should probably make the bitcoin/litecoin devs aware of this, I bet they won't be too happy about it.

= TiPS (FedoraCoin) - 2nd most profitable coin! - active dev team - unique new features = Why aren't you involved with TiPS yet? Cheesy - Feeling generous? TIP the official FedoraCoin mixer ETiPMiXedut8GPBug1hzSJzBDsx4xG6ww6 - Every TIP helps!

Why are you all so worried about alt coins? Who cares if there will be 100000 of them. If businesses don't accept them, they are worthless. They are good for miners, because difficulties drop from other coins. They will just die after time.

I see alt coins as a blessing in disguise as I can simply mine the hell out of them all, trade for BTC and profit a lot more, than mining Bitcoins directly. Then if they crash, they crash and Bitcoin will still be a strong currency despite that. Smiley

All the alt-coins are MIT licensed (at least ones forked from bitcoin).  Nothing wrong with what the guy is doing, however tasteless it may be.
