On second thought, I am going to resurect this coin. Give me a little time and you will all be enjoying the Bacon once more!!!! YUM will be bigger and better than ever. Anyone who has dev skills, however small that wants to help out, either talk to me on IRC (irc.freenode.net  channel = #digitalcoin)  or pm me on here!

Man this is the best news I've heard about this coin in weeks ! I'd much rather not see this coin die!! Now I'm excited to see what's going to happen with it :-D

***my wallet keeps trying to sync to some huge blockchain ...I think it's trying to sync some other coin or something ? Not exactly sure what's going on with it

Was kind of upset to see the dev abandon this coin it had a great launch up until the difficulty got screwed up

I've spent a lot of time mining this coin I'm gonna wait to hear back from inthemoney and see some results before I put more effort into this coin but will definitely be keeping a close eye on this thread and the pools .

I agree that it would be nice to see this coin make a come back.

Also letting you know the retarget is 531 Blocks away, and not 64 blocks.

Hello everyone, I wanted to apologize for the absents of my presence on the forum. I have been very busy with work and life in general. I wanted to let everyone know that I am currently working on upgrade the code to address the diff targeting and some other bugs that I would like to get all fixed up. Once I have this update out I would like to work with some people to help get BaconBits out and about in the wild again.

Oh good to see you are still around!! Is it possible to get the wallet issue fixed? I can't even get my wallet to sync up anymore... It's trying to sync some huge number of blocks

The wallet is actually synced. What you are seeing is cross traffic from litecoin, so the wallet thinks that it can sync with litecoin however it can not. Once I get the upgrade code all nice and polished it should mask this issue. The only problem is coordinating with the pool owners for this upgrade because it needs to happen all at the same time to prevent major forking issues. I am working with InTheMoney to revive this delicious coin.

It's still going to take a bit to get this coin turned around.  You don't even really need to work on hard forking the coin to get the difficulty adjusted.  It's pretty low right now.

All you need to do to get everything back on track is:

a) Pay out all the rewards you promised to miners for finding blocks while difficulty was above 7.

b) Get to work promoting the coin.  Not just giving out Baconbits in giveaways.  But doing things like trying to get it on an exchange.  Keep posting updates and things to keep this thread rolling, and up on the thread list so it gets read and interests more miners.

c) Explain to the miners (Since a few of us are ticked yet) why you left (I know you said you were busy with life and work), but many of us noticed you were posting alot on the USDe threads, and had the time to photoshop and post pics in that thread, and it looked alot like you were mining there as well, yet you left your own coins thread untouched for almost a week.  Yes it will suck having to apologize, but you need to get people back on your side.  The internet leaves a paper trail.

d) Fix the Original post.  The retarget should not say 3 hours.  It's not.  Put Retarget every 600 blocks.  or if you want to keep with a time aspect, say every 5 hours, as 3 hours at 30 second blocks is every 360 blocks, and not 600.   Also remove the line that stated there is a group of developers, since it looks like it is only you.

After that some miners will come back, and the retarget will be hit in very little time.  Which will give you some time to fix the wallet.

The reason this coin got stuck at a high difficulty is because some pools.. bettercoin in particular didn't pay out fairly at launch. I was mining right at the beginning finding blocks.. blocks were being found every second.. and none of my hashrate was reported on their website. I continued to mine there because the admin was posting on the site that payouts would catch up.. this was a lie. I didn't receive any payouts until block 2500 or so when I was submitting shares from block one. Only got 80 coins from the pools 90,000 coins that were found in the first hour or two. Then they switched to pps.. felt ripped off and scammed.. and bettercoin was supposedly the official pool.. complete bs.

The coin daemon was broken and causing double payouts... the yum appears to be dead, so a lot of us collectively lost time and energy on baconbits.  If you believe it's going places get me your address and I'll send you what I've got.

But if you'd like to follow a coin that has an awesome community, active devs, a promising future with a pretty decent trading volume at coinmarket.io, you should check out USDe!

Read my posts in this thread, bettercoin pool also ripped me off, the admin denied it and promised to publish my hashrate and stats and he never delivered.
