Hi all,
Just started out 2 days ago with the Bitcoin client. I have around 33 connections and at the moment 111203 blocks. I wanted to test out receiving a bitcoin transaction and logged into the Faucet site, and requested some BTC with my address. Could anyone tell me how long I should be waiting for the transaction to show up in the client. At present I see nothing, I would have expected to see it in grey waiting for confirmation. The client has been running for 24hours ( this may be too short a time ... ) on a core 2 quad cpu Q6600 with 8GB ram ...
thanks,
Wayne

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

The Faucet only gives out so many coins per day, and then all future "orders" are queued. You'll get it eventually.
