Ok I will give 1 Million coins to anyone who can fix this issue and keep it fixed for at least a couple weeks.  I'll give you 500k up front and another 500k after one week of flawlessness

Impossible is a word found only in the dictionary of fools.

Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Ok, there was a commit yesterday that changed back the rand function used in GetBlockValue to the "normal" one : generateMTRandom
This wasn't there when I last updated the linux daemon code, on the 17th, when this was supposed to be fixed.

I'm pretty sure that what's happening is that the majority of the users/pools still have the old code, but the wallet has the new one, and at block 3476, the check of the block value relying on the previous block's hash does not validate when compared to the real block 3477 value. All of this because the random function changed, and in very particular cases the result of the rand() default function is not the same as the boost mt rand one with the same seed.
So ConnectBlock fails, because block 3477 with hash 9bc3e6455ffe34d45d1d4fc43eb346dbd4675a33e7c70c7bd8080b6146e422b3 is considered bad, when everyone out there being at block 4000 or 5000 should have this specific hash for this block.

If it really comes from this block 3477's hash not validating, then every block beyond the 3476 one is not valid.

That also explains why nobody can sync past it.

Only the dev can confirm that this is the source of the sync issues.

If it is, there is no fix, because there is no problem. We simply have to do what .Batman asked already : update to the last wallet version and delete the blockchain data.
Linux users also have to get the last commit from the 17th via a git pull.

It will then resolve itself automatically.

The windows client is long here,
But we can't seem to get it to sync all the way (sometimes does) -- there are to many people running the old client with the old chains!

DOWNALOAD THE NEW WINDOWS CLIENT
https://mega.co.nz/#!lRsBFCzS!du5DbjlNkx6Yq4PCngEhZB_VKOBOGWtslye8m9b4t7c
*DELETE YOUR OLD CHAIN (!!!!BACKUP WALLET.DAT!!!!)*

add to conf file:
Code:
rpcuser=x
rpcpassword=x
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
daemon=1
server=1
addnode=84.109.103.114
addnode=88.198.40.3

please give us other nodes  the node 88.198.40.3 is have the old wallet no sync and the 84.109.103.114 is offline long time

You can delete all files but wallet.dat in your App-Data Folder. Plus old batcoin-qt.exe of course. You can keep your batcoin.conf or create a new one. I just have done it this way and it  syncs actually. All coins are back in the wallet already.

Edit: Completely synced now, even without any nodes in .conf file. No problems at all.

Btw. I'm selling 500k BAT. PM me with an offer.

I guess this is not forked any more... but that is just because forks only have 3 or 4 teeth...

This blockchain is probably a large and big tree with some many branches that I'm sure my coins are more than 80% lost now... and Batman keeps in the shadows without any proper feedback :| it's a shame it had good potential.

Stuck at 3702

Says I may need to upgrade or other nodes may need to upgrade?

But the nodes are that of the ones on the front page updated conf

listen=1
server=1
daemon=1
rpcuser=1
rpcpassword=x
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcconnect=127.0.0.1
rpcport=11689
port=10743
addnode=84.109.103.114
addnode=88.198.40.3

If I leave it on will it just correct it self? lol

EDIT: It's at 3706 now... but its out of 3839 blocks? I see some of you are in the 5000~

I deleted everything except my wallet.dat

well actually we shouted more than once to stop solo mining with old wallets, to hold and wait
so the block chain "tree" is on the community as well
right now (and hell knows why) there is more than 70% sitting on the legacy chain and screwing everyone else's chance to sync with the new one
want to blame it all on us? be my guest, i did not sleep for almost 4 days straight for this coin, i gained nothing from it, trying to fix something that people ruining and do not even try to support is not that easy
as i said
we fixed the fork
and some people caused another 5 just because it was so hard for them to stop solo with the old bugged wallets
and the super cool thing is that they still do
so they are the majority on the network
so you can't sync because the wallet shouts on your wallet that your good chain is "bad"
and that is something we CANT fix, if the majority here wants to sit on the old chain, it becomes the "good" chain by the network rules

p.s
if you would follow the instructions and upgrade the wallet, delete the old chain and run it with everyone else, it will work
there is nothing left for me and my team to fix, community behaviour is not something a dev can fix

account has been hacked and ownership has been restored! this act has reincarnated us so stay tuned for updates!
