I am a new comers in this forum and i wanted to know about the possibilities to earn merit possible in ranking up,most of us share our thoughts constructively but most people here were noted to just read the threads but don't give merits, making Jr.Members,Members and Full members  to stocked up with their current ranks because of having hard time to rank up.

In my case how can i earn merit as newbies have limited knowledge on cryptocurrencies existence and concepts?
Any thoughts guys?

A rank is not a measure of the time you have spent or the dues you have paid. A rank is a measure of how much you have contributed. It hasn't always been that, but I believe that it has always been intended to be that.

welcome to the forum Aizel5months! Just Like odolvlobo have said, your account gets ranked up based the contribution you have made to the forum. and if you are looking for merits, try and make your post constructive, no spamming the forum, no plagiarism, no copy and past other peoples post.
please move this Thread to Meta board https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=24.0 THANKS

You can't. If you don't know much hence don't provide good content, then you simply don't deserve merits. It's like asking to be paid for a job that you simply can't do.

It's definitely not true that low ranked members aren't being given merits. I've just recently started posting decent articles and I've been given a few merits. You want merits? Then give us good posts for them to give us merits. Don't expect people to give merits to useless and nonsense posts.

Here are some of my posts in the fast few days:
Types of bitcoin and cryptocurrency wallets and it's risks: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3743071
Cryptocurrency and Wallet Security: DOs and DON'Ts: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3834677
Common Cryptocurrency Scams to Watch out for: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3935216

And yes. I did make those posts myself.

And no. I did NOT copypaste those articles.

The the author of this thread said he has limited knowledge in cryptocurrency and of course he is not able to make cool and attractive posts (as lots of us). I think you can't legally receive any merits here fast.
Also I would like to ask you, what for do you need merits? It's the main question, because the main number of functions and possibilities are able for everyone here.

Probably just like most new people here, they need the merits to rank up to receive higher payouts through bounties, unfortunately. Some people value bounties over knowledge.

Before you are posting here "how can I earn merit as a newbie" blah blah blah, you need to think where will you start because you said that you have only "limited knowledge" on cryptocurrencies. Explore first, read some useful threads and gain some knowledge. Merits will be there for you but knowledge will not. You need to find it thru reading here in the forum.

Anyway, welcome to you. Friendly advice, don't think like the other newbies here asking "how can I earn merits" or "is there any way for me to rank up" like that. Smiley

Nobody cares about beginner's opinions, there are hundreds of them. Merit system idea is good, but it's too raw yet and need to be upgraded. I'm sure that administration working on it and don't have time to read one more opinion.

I was surprised that
  Date Registered: May 19, 2018, 09:40:25 PM
and that this is your first post 1 hour after your registration, already moaning the merit system.  Of course (almost) no one can make high quality posts at the beginning, so you should first try by yourself to learn crypto and the forum and then to post something which you think are helpful for people.

You've already answered yourself. Be conscious: you've just entered into a new world and, as you said, you're far from being an expert in the matter. And yet, you're asking for some recognition, for what? For knowing nothing?

That's the mean problem we have on the forum: many newbies want to have recognition at no cost, at no effort at all. This is no how it works, man. You first need to stay here, to explore the forum for a long time. And, once you understand how the forum works, you will probably able to determine in which way you can contribute to the community.
Anyway, this kind of "begging" posts are used to have as a result to be ignored for so many seniors members in here.
