Hey,

I can get my hands on a 38GH/s asic miner (blockerupter) for 285$ incl. shipping.
What do you think, is this a good deal? I'm fairly new to asic mining.

Seems like he already sold 9 but none of them made a review yet.
The other one's I can get are 600$ without shipping.

The page I'll buy it one is one of the biggest marketplaces known and offers Buyer Protection. I'll give it a shot...

What do you mean with "is it hot"?

Check his feedback, you may not like what you see!

http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2014-hot-38GH-S-bitcoin-miner-speeker-ASIC-USB/1588213426.html

Looks like a scam but sadly so many people have already ordered.
Anyone got experience with the Buyer Protection they offer? Might be worth a shot if they really refund. PayPal would be better but he doesn't accept it.

Considering the company is not even a verified seller, I would have to agree and say scam. Unless you wanted to donate $285 to his pocket...

I was looking at that website today. They do offer buyer protection but I read a bunch of reviews where they ask for proof and when the proof of ripoff was supplied they claimed it was insufficient. Let us know how it goes.

Do NOT buy from sellers without feedback. Do not rely on the buyer protection either.

That sounds too good to be true and you know what people say about things that are too good to be true, right?

Buyer protection on Aliexpress is generally good,
You pay to Alipay (escrow) and they do not release payment to the vendor until you confirm you have received your order and it is as described and not damaged in shipping. If you have an issue on receipt of your goods, simply open a dispute and provide details of your claim.
I have opened 3 disputes over past orders and all have been amicably resolved.

These miners look like Avalon gen 1 tech and a little power hungry so may be genuine.

cheers,

These miners look like Avalon gen 1 tech and a little power hungry so may be genuine.

From the pics and specs, they're ASICMiner Block Erupter Cubes, which are ASICMiner's 3rd or 4th iteration of its block erupter lineup.  All use the same chips, BE100.  Same as in the oh-so-prevalent Block Erupter USB sticks that so many folks picked up.

I have some Cubes from when they first came out and mine all work great, though I dislike the fact that they only handle getwork and so must use a proxy with most pools.

yes, the blocks are nice, but we are saying this site is a scam. i almost ordered 2000$ worth of devices and then started reading this thread and other online and it seems that once you make payment you will never get the hardware.

Didn't say it wasn't a scam - sure looks like one to me, too.

But the poster I was responding to was talking as if they were some sort of Avalon device, which is certainly not at all what they're being made out to be...
