In logarithms, $1000-$3200 takes half the time of a move from $1000 to $10000.  $1000-$2000 takes 30% of the time.  So expect to be in the $1000s for a while and then to more quickly move once we get past $5000.

My totally unprofessional market psychology bullshit assessment is that we're going to fight around $1000 for a while because there were a lot of people getting in around and above that nice round USD number and a lot of those people got their first real lesson in markets/panic/capitulation recently and a lot of them probably want to get the fuck out because bitcoin is still too risky for them.

LOL'd hard... Cheesy this is so true

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

Bitcoin Fact: the price of bitcoin will not be greater than $70k for more than 25 consecutive days at any point in the rest of recorded human history.

And because the powers that be stubbornly refuse to switch to the more psychology-friendly mBTC.

Yep, that's totally it.  Switch to mBTC and we'll hit $5 tomorrow. If only the man weren't keeping us down.  Roll Eyes

If we could just switch to Satoshis we'd be at like $1trillion/satoshi by next week, at least.  Amiright?

+1 Theres some talk about this potentially happening soon.....

Truly believe this is the right way to move forward. Old habits die hard; think about the newcomers - Call them Satoshis or whatever, but the mental barrier of sheeple investing all they can afford from their menial paychecks, for months and still not even accumulating 1 full BTC would be pretty discouraging....

Ya we totally need to do away with ounces and make everyone buy grams of gold, too, so we can get filthy rich off semantic psychology. Who needs all these different units of weight measurement anyway?

Not saying to eradicate the "1 BTC" denomination. Rather, simply make a concerted community effort to adopt a smaller unit of measurement. Both can coexist.

Akin to your example: people embrace and know the difference between an ounce of gold and a gram of gold. Not everybody embraces, nor understands the concept of a Satoshi.

Oh trust me, they do, and that's why 1 mBTC is valued at what it is and why 1 BTC is valued at what it is... changing how the majority of the community "refers" to something or in what denomination they speak of most frequently won't make the asset more valuable.

Serious money doesn't care about a 1k price tag. A change might even turn them off. Is the system so fragile that they have to play mind games? And if ordinary people with mental hangups are fine with staying poor because of it, more power to them.

Look inside yourself, and you will see that you are the bubble.
