When you access this site, are you utilizing TOR or something to that effect?

Most people are with day to day post, but I don't really see the point. SMF keeps logs of every IP you've ever posted with.

Buy VPN (1), use that VPN (1) to buy another VPN (2). Connect to TOR (1), then connection to VPN (2). Once you're good, connect to VPN (1) and buy and connect to VPN (3). If you want to go further, force SSL and use incognito.

nice incognito is for tor. check on that. so multiple vpns are going to be so that it makes it harder and harder to figure out where the original came from? still confused on that part

It was a trick I used to use when hacking. I used a stolen dedi to start the 7-proxie-party. xD You also need to know exactly where the VPN's are located at to keep speeds at a maximum.

I can't tell if I'm being fucked with or not What exactly did you mean by the original question? If it was a general question to people if they are using TOR or not, then I don't understand this post. If it was meant as is the site setup to automatically use TOR for everyone, then the answer is no.

No the question was (rephrased):
When browsing the forums, are folks concerned about their IP and info being on here, and are therefore utilizing software such as TOR/VPNs/etc to hide themselves.

Only Admins/Mods have access to your information. As long as you don't admit to doing anything immoral to the eyes of the staff, there is nothing you should be worried about. This is a mix between Social Engineering (letting people know what you want them to know) and anonymity (what you want to brag about without getting in trouble). A.K.A. one bad ass balancing act.

Your first question was clear enough IMO I don't see the point in hiding when browsing this BBS. Bitcoin is legal, my wallet isn't threatened by the fact that my IP is here, I'm not using the same credentials here as in any mining pool... Why hide more than by choosing an un-googleable nickname?

if you have nothing to hide, why bother...
(BTW, in context if this post, it is much deeper than one could think at the first glance)
I like to think of it as literally hiding...under a desk or in a bomb shelter or something like that.

Seriously, just use a VPN anything more than that and you are seriously paranoid.
