I have a 7870 that I used for gaming and very moderate mining I might be looking to trade up. Its been awhile but if I remember correctly with very minimal effort I got it to 400khs. Which R9 290 is it? And which 7950's do you have?

I got 2 of them two days before Christmas. They have only been hashing since then and I have the original boxes and accessories. They get about 400 k/hs each on Windows with a simple -I 18 (I haven't messed with settings at all, they should be able to get 450 with clocking tweaks and what not). They are practically silent, the fans only run at 1500 to 2500 rpm at a 75 degree temp target. When compared to the jet engine sound of my really old reference 7950, this was a nice surprise.

I am out of PCIe slots in my two rigs and want to get above 2 m/hs, hence why I also keep bidding on your cloud hashing deals haha.

What kind of 290 do you have? Depending on manufacturer and condition, I would trade both for it since it opens up a PCIe slot and the value/hashrate is similar.

The 290 is an XFX R9 290 (Black OC 4GB DDR5 Marketing babble etc.)

They are miner modified:
  I move the TIM to cover all of the chips since AMD is to lazy. 
  I put real thermal paste over the GPU since AMD is to lazy.
  I put copper heat-sinks on all of the chips that since AMD is to lazy to cool.
  I remove the air-flow prevention device (I mean PCI bracket) this one is the consumers issue not really AMD's.  After a few years in enterprise data centers you learn that ANYTHING blocking ANY portion of the intake or exhaust of an air-cooled computer system is a complete waste.  This includes those pretty dell covers (garbage) cable organizers (garbage) bad wiring leading to a spider web behind the exhaust (re-wire) and PCI Brackets.

The other three are still en-route, or gnar1ta$ got scammed on them either way I don't have model information yet.

I've run several hundred cards since 2010 and I've never had good luck with the 7950,6950 or 6990.  These were also used not new and a paid didn't travel well.
