Hello all, I'm glad to be a new Bitcointalk forum member  Smiley

I've been CPU mining for a few months now with a stake in multiple different crypto currencies; I'm here to learn more from the large community and hopefully impart some of what I have learned also.

I have experience with minerd, minerd64 and ptsminer under Windows if anyone needs any help feel free to PM me.  Grin

See you around...Lucidite.

Oh OK - I've been thinking of getting into GPU mining but aren't sure which card to go for; what did you end up choosing for your rig?

@onlinebit & @kisaragi - thanks for the advice Smiley

@onlinebit - you mention you're going back to 270X's on your next rig; better hash rate in your experience or is it a cost/power issue? EDIT - I found an answer at the link below, might go 270X's instead!

http://www.overclock.net/t/1454426/r9-270-underrated-the-holy-grail-of-mining-rigs-2-important-metrics

It seems 5970/7950 models are nigh on impossible to get for under $330 (second hand...) in my country but the 280X (toxic) model is ~ $420 so I might grab one of those to begin with.

Thanks again!  Smiley

I'd say just BTC mining is a smarter investment.
