CPU:
F) Q9550S ES CPU (Ultra Rare) $600 (~86 BTC)
http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Processor-2-83GHz-1333MHz-BX80569Q9550/dp/B0012WDMNC [link shows a regular, non-ES]
Update: I have been asked why the price of this cpu is higher than Amazon's $349+
This is a special, not released to the public, ES chip. Collectable by enthusiasts.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but why would someone pay more for an Engineering Sample?

If I've helped: 1CmguJhwW4sbtSMFsyaafikJ8jhYS61quz

Sold: 5850 to lepenguin. Quick, easy and trustworthy.

These guys sum it up pretty well; http://www.overclock.net/t/394930/q9550-es-engineering-sample  http://www.incrysis.com/forums/viewtopic.php?id=20775

OP; DO you have any of the mfr date info, etc on this chip?

If you're not excited by the idea of being an early adopter 'now', then you should come back in three or four years and either tell us "Told you it'd never work!" or join what should, by then, be a much more stable and easier-to-use system.

But it's a gamble..  like buying all computer parts.  Just because it's 'ES' doesn't mean it's the god of all chips.

Those threads pretty much cover it:
-cherry picked processor built exactly like OEM but with better overclocking potential
-no voltage deterioration
-higher heat tolerance
-not locked

Not sure where to find the "mfr date info", the top of the chip says "QJMG ES A4" (among other things) and according to chiplist, "Introduction: January 2009".
