So I have been using coinbase for a while now and getting good payouts with little wait time between transactions. I signed up for MT Gox a while back but never really used it because I am in the US and heard not so great things about getting payouts in a timely manor. But MT Gox is always higher on exchange rate than coinbase. So wanting to see if anyone has an opinon on it or has used MT Gox recently to exchange to US Dollars and have them payed out.

You will find lots of strong opinion in the MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] thread

Avoid MTGox like a plague, they are impossible to deal with.

Stick with Coinbase.  I think the people on Mt. Gox are mostly the traders who had a lot of their money in the exchange before the feds made it hard to get USD out.

Someone please tell me what I am missing.

If I look at the current value of Bitcoin I might get $1,000 USD but the coinbase trade platform shows trading at $940.

Are they actually charging a $60 differential or is there a different way to use the coinbase trading screen ?

Thanx

I think everyone would advise against MTGox. Whenever I googled this same question when I was starting out, there was so much toxicity against MTGox I barely even checked their website out.
I have been using Coinbase as a primary, and I will continue using until everyone jumps the bandwagon for another, easy-to-use, no hassle service. Wouldn't we all love a flawless service >.>
Eventually all the common problems with BTC will be weeded out as the popularity grows, and it's at a fast pace as it is.
