In any ecosystem, be it in nature or business, there is always a competition. And most often than not, the best always rises to the top. And here in our crypto ecosystem, a competition do also exist. Between Bitcoin and Altcoin. We all very well known that bitcoin, being the first and most proven cryptocurrency already took the center stage in crypto market. Now that altcoins came into the picture, where does it really stands? What will be the selling point of altcoin that will eventually led the bitcoin enthusiasts to finally switch places?
bitcoin is not important any more at all, this coin is rudimental and only bring dump to cryptoworld, old and not usefull at all, altcoins are much more needed and bringing blockchain into real world, such projects like Usechain can help us to do it faster |

BTC it's like a gold, you hold it during the life, Alts are like investing in the regular company. Before coming in crypto I wanted to invest in some startups and had no idea about crypto. Right now I have possibilities to invest some money in the company I like. The best solution for the modern world.

I don't think there are other way to finally switch Bitcoin enthusiasts to altcoin because the reason why they like Bitcoin is being the first cryptocurrency that survive in spite of so many rejections and obstacles that altcoin didn't experience. |

altcoin is very important besides bitcoin, I believe if altcoin could be a threat to bitcoin where altcoin now has various types and also varying prices. so altcoin will definitely be very important and the world of cryptocurrency.

It depend on how you look at it. Generally in any sphere competition is good, because it motivates people to evolve into something better. Yes, most of the altcoins are really bad and just scams, but even if 1% can provide competition for Bitcoin, it is good.

Altcoins have their own unique importance. Earlier people used to say that the alts are poaching on the users of Bitcoin. Fortunately, this opinion has changed now. A lot of users are realizing that altcoins such as Ethereum are beneficial to the crypto-sector.

Bitcoin was the first crypto and thereby regarded as the master of all in cryptospace. Without any doubt, the most popular crypto and is also the crypto with widest acceptance. I think, nothing in this world is perfect including Bitcoin. It has various flaws like more time for transaction confirmation and high fees for transactions. Various altcoins help Bitcoin in overcoming these flaws and help in making the crypto ecosystem more mainstream. Altcoins play a very important role in making crypto more mature and popular.

I can say that for the most part - they are all slightly larger than just clones of BTC, but differ from it insignificantly. These differences are most often related to characteristics such as transaction speed, distribution method or hashing algorithm. But they also take the same place in the crypto-currency world.

Yes altcoins are just as important as bitcoins. In fact they have the potential to be be much more valuable than Bitcoin in the future. Bitcoin can't stay at the top forever and some altcoin is going to take the number one place of Bitcoin in the future. Its only about time before something like that happens.

Altcoins is very broad term. Ethereum is for sure very important. But every day there are created new and new coins. In the future term, altcoin will disappear.

I think some altcoin are as important as bitcoin if not important than bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency and it is only for exchange of value, while some altcoin are used for different purpose, and to provide different solutions.

YES. They are just as important (if not more). Without altcoins, there would be no competition for the #1 crypto (bitcoin).
Competition is a vital part of a market. It is destined to fail with no competition.

Not sure there is a real competition between Bitcoin and Altcoins.
Too many shitcoins, only few "real world" use cases coins and still at an early stage.
Look the technology, BTC is still working, I mean, you had some BTC since the begining and forget them, now they still exists, as the blockchain.
In the Altcoins universe, it's not really the same, there is too many forks, swap etc.. If you don't keep track of the projects you may loose your coins... and most of the altcoins pretend to be a store of value... lol

Well based on my knowledge and understanding about those cryptos, thet are both important, altcoin are the ones controlling the equality of all cryptos, example the litecoins, namecoins, neo and other altcoins are good example of altcoins that really help the cryptocyrrency to be more wide, and also specially the Bitcoin which is the frontliner and universal of all cryptocurrencies in the world the people are being more knowledgable about cryptocurrencies because of these two. Thats why they are both important.

I don't find altcoins to be equally important, to me altcoins were the assets that grow depending on bitcoin. In simple terms when there is only one thing in the market we don't value it, same when we have large number of assets one can easily differentiate from the other with its growth. This makes bitcoin stand unique making it more important than altcoins. |

They are both important in crypto but when it come to altcoin this the most used of different project now but some investor desregard it because of many token used with no value.this will make the downward of altcoin. |
