This is not neccessarily true:
Difficulty can just increase by a factor of 4. That means that it will take some time for the difficulty to ramp up; that also means that it is unlikely for the diff to rise to insane values from which eToken could not recover anymore.

With very fast new blocks coming in, you should expect a lot of rejects. The blockrate is decreasing slowly though with the difficulty increase, so the rejects should be less by now.
However, try to start cgminer with the following flags for local usage:

I ran it on virtualbox and chain ghost stuck 19 hours ago. so I trashed the whole appdata/romaing/eToken folder and replaced it with the one generated by my linux headless client+solo mining to catchup on the right chain...
