The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

I've been mining this for a while and , while I am glad that I can still get some coins with my 800 kh/s , doesn't this slow retarget make the coin vulnerable to big multicoin pools ?

What I want to say is : when the coin will be somewhat profitable , they might jump in and increase the network hashrate a lot. They would mine untill it isn't profitable anymore and then leave the rest of miners with a high difficulty for a long time.

Also , I don't know the dev personally and have no idea of his hashing power. But didn't he make the diff. retarget slow so he can mine more untill everybody else jumps on it ?

Vulnerable, yes ...
No he didnt do that, mining was done from the scratch with a pool he set up. The pool died eventually but he released the source after that (#8190)

Actually this slow retarget and block reward cut after 1y makes this coin very stable in long term. When it hits the top of profitability list, it will stay there for longer time.
This coin is nothing like coins which are extremely high inflationary in the beginning and extremely deflationary at the end.

Just my 2 cents tho.  Smiley

Gratz on the block, its best for the currency if it is solved by a pool I think Smiley

We need to spread hashing power a bit soon, too many people on one pool right now :\

Everybody is welcome to join us @ etok.smartmining.net.

Brand new pool, only a few users yet.

We have PPLNS reverse payout, so you get payed for previous rounds even if you don't contribute to the current round. Every valid share is counted.

I switched to spread a bit of hashing power although 800kh is not a lot lol

That's at least 0,7% of the network hash rate...  Wink

Great to have you on board, happy hashing!

I'm pretty new to this mining game, but can someone explain to me the following.....

1. Block 30,000 is coming up shortly. I've been mining from around 21k block so have a few coins tucked away, BUT my question is, what's to stop someone jumping in, around block 29,990 and mining (in my pool) and then taking a slice of the 2,500 coins? (assuming same hash power, and we hit the jackpot)

2. I notice in my pool, that I'm not paid a % for every block my pool finds, I think it was 27k or 28k block where I didn't receive a share of the find, and that made me realise I'm missing on various blocks. Is that because my power is contributing absolutely nothing to that particular block? I thought though, that was the idea of a group? You all share the profits of your work equally?

Sorry if my questions sound trivial, but as with everything, you need to learn.....

Cheers Smiley

I can confirm the bug on chrome Smiley

I'm failing to understand why so many of you guys are just flying off the handle against people with real issues on this pool. It's unhelpful and only foments anger among others. Relax...

Why not support everybody else's request to at least have a dialogue with the person who is profiting greatly by maintaining the pool? We all want to make money here, but we also don't want to be taken for a ride in the process. Answers (for us meek folk) keep this feeling at bay. Just a bit more transparency is all people are requesting here, and not even information that would take long to provide, just a few minutes and status updates a day would greatly improve the quality of this thread. So do it...

superblock 2500 coins every 10000 blocks . it's in the specs
valid error pool got it.the only annoying thing is the local diff 128 which must have prevented a majority of miners there to get something from it
(for instance I got my shares on 29994 and next 30001, damned  Grin )...
at least it wasn't solo mined

So, Block 30k came in, my group alid-error.com/ found it, and I didn't get any shares of this.....
http://etoken.valid-error.com/index.php?page=statistics&action=round&height=30000

Am I just unlucky? I was contributing around 1% of the groups hash power - I guess I just don't get why I don't get around 1% of the bounty (or why I wasn't showing any shares for that block) - please someone, put me out of my misery and tell me why.

Cheers Smiley
