According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Hashrates at most pools have gone down considerably... Is it because of the increased diffculty or is it because everyone is waiting for the next superblock...? Or both?

I think that most of the miners are trying their luck at one of the 5! coins launched in the past 2 hours
Hashrate will increase again when others difficulty will go up, as this seems the most reasonable one to mine right now

No worry coins like bat will appear and then disappear after a round of pump and dumping but eTok has the possibility to become something.

Do you see the time gap there.... only 14 seconds in between 29999 and 30004. If you look at the link, it shows everyone that had a share on that.
