The choice of a coin for investment depends on your strategy and amount. For long-term investments, I would choose ETH, for a short position - Ripple.

For me Ethereum is the second after Bitcoin. As we can see, the price is going up now. I like ETH because it's a perfect way to buy other alcoins. And it means that usage of ETH will only increase. So don't be afraid, it's a good investment.

There will always be a debate if you are planning to invest using your funds along with your friends. Someone should know how to trade well so your money will be safe. Basically, ETH is a great coin compare to others so its better to invest at least 50% on eth and the rest look for other coins.

ETH and NEO are already proven to be a good investment, its positive that you get a lot of profit if you stick to the two which are your choices as you said but you also thought of investing Ripples. If someone advises you are giving this coin a try, maybe he knew something about it or hold hundred thousands of it. In my view though is that, its all up to you.
