Hi all,

I have 2 mining rigs set up and both had 2 GPU's (7950 Sapphire).

Today I finally received my Powered Risers and was able to add the 3rd card on both rigs (all on motherboard was to hot).

So I have added the risers, connected all the Molex cables, and suspended the card on a bracket to hold them higher in the air and further apart for more airflow.

After booting in Windows and starting cgminer it still showed GPU 0 and GPU 1.
Any idea what I have to do to get the 3rd one to work?

Rig Specs:
AsRock 970 Extreme 4
3x 7950 Sapphire
4GB ram
Win 7 home
Crossfire disabled

Have same/similar problem

have here some rigs with R9 280X,R9 290 and R9 270X.Using ASROCK boards ASRock Z87 OC FORMULA and ASRock Z87 Killer.Have lot of PCI-e x1 unpowered,x16 unpowered and x1 powered risers.
PSU is Chieftec 1200W,OCZ and Zalmans all 1200W.

Problem is that these risers works only with R9 270X cards.

When i want use 280X or 290 cards are not recognized by system.

I tried every possible combinations but not works.

If i have 280X on PCI-E x16 slot VGA instaled its without problem when i use any of mentioned riser then card is never visible.Even if i use only one card on first x16 slot with x16 riser then not have screen, board not boot.Or maybe boot but onscreen is black only. When i put back vga to slot it works perfect.

Where can be problem?
I tried one card in slot and second via riser. And same only card directly on slot onboard is recogniezd but card conected with risers not works at all.

When i use 270X i can put under Win 7 4x VGA cards without any problem to both boards. On Killer Asrock using one x1 slot with x1 riser and need shorten two pins on slot but works perfect. But any other cards simply not recognized.

Any help needed

My problem is fixed. Somehow the middle PCI-E slot does not recognize the GPU in either of the rigs.
Plugged the riser cable in a 1x slot and it worked.
