I've been told that mining for Bitcoin can be quite profitable. I am wondering if investing money into a miner (money needed to invest is not an issue) will actually yield results. Can anyone point me into the right direction in terms of finding a mining rig and learning how to operate it?

First thing you should do is to use some online calculators and see if you gain more than you pay in electricity.
