I understand the admin of this BBS is only trying to keep the spammers down and for that i congratulate them but these newbie restrictions are a bit much IMHO.
Simple Q&A CAPTCHA can keep out most bots in SMF.

Sure but if someone where paying me money to troll here then a 4 hour 5 post limit wouldent do much to stop me. All it really does it makes this forum very inconvenient for new users. |

aye, I do agree but there are some seriously dumb people that take advantage of the newbie forums. Just to allude that bitcoins is an obsolete option as an alternative currency. We need math, lol.

You will need to have 4 ACTIVE hours logged. Check to the top left to see your logged in time. It is not enough to just let the site sit in the background. You need to actively surf on the site for 4 hours.
EDIT: And as I'm writing it seems you just reached "Jr. Member". You should be able to post elsewhere now.

I think it's a good idea to weed out the trolls and spammers. It's a bit harsh on newbies that are active, but if they're active 4 active hours is nothing.
