I run minepeon on my pi and recently got the adafruit control and display board with a little lcd display and a few buttons. I am just wondering if there is anything I can install to get this running straight away as I don't really have any experience with this kind of thing, i'm a windows user really and don't have very much experience with linux to try and get it working myself! any online guides maybe to help me?

You'll have to figure out how to add the equivalent of this guide to Arch linux (guide is Raspbian based) to get the I2C working.
http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-16x2-character-lcd-plus-keypad-for-raspberry-pi/usage

Once you sort that then you just need to:

Code:
git clone https://github.com/adafruit/PiMiner.git
sudo python PiMiner/PiMiner.py &

I was under the impression that minepeon was ready to rock with the Adafruit display, it should already have PiMiner installed...
Just run the second command in the post above
